Cookie Policy
The cookies and similar storage we use, what each one does, and how to change your choices.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, let a website remember information in your browser in much the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.
This policy explains exactly which ones THE NEW WAVE uses on tnw.watch and how you can control them.
Our approach
We keep this to a minimum. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or tracking cookies, and our fonts and images are served from our own website.
We use:
- Strictly necessary: Needed for the website to work as you use it: remembering your cookie choices and keeping the watches you add to your cart. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences: Remember small choices on this device so the site feels familiar on your next visit, such as skipping the full opening animation and the collection swipe hint once you have seen them.
Optional preference storage is only used if you agree. If you reject it, nothing optional is stored, and the site works exactly the same apart from the small conveniences it provides.
Cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
tnw_consentCookie (first party) |
THE NEW WAVE | Stores your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page. | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
tnw-cartLocal storage |
THE NEW WAVE | Keeps the watches you add to your cart (watch, colour and quantity) while you browse and if you come back later. Contains no personal or payment information and is not sent to us. | Strictly necessary | Until you empty your cart or clear your browser storage |
Preferences
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
tnw-introLocal and session storage |
THE NEW WAVE | Remembers that you have seen the opening animation, so it is shortened on return visits. | Preferences | Until you clear it or withdraw consent (session copy: until the tab closes) |
tnw-collection-hint-seenLocal storage |
THE NEW WAVE | Remembers that you have used the collection carousel, so the swipe hint is not shown again. | Preferences | Until you clear it or withdraw consent |
tnw-trust-barSession storage |
THE NEW WAVE | Remembers that you closed the message bar at the top of the page, so it stays closed while you browse. | Preferences | Until you close the tab |
Your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you’re happy for us to use optional cookies. You can change your mind at any time:
The same “Cookie settings” link is in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, we remove the optional storage from your device straight away. We remember your choice for 6 months, after which we ask again. We also ask again if the cookies we use change significantly.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website, including checkout, may not work.
Changes to this policy
If we start using new cookies, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before using them.
